Take the road to lasting memories

Maternity

Snowy and Cozy Maternity Shoot

Elizabeth and Diogo invited us over their house for some maternity shots, and on a nice snowy day we were able to get a nice mix of both indoor and outdoor photos.

Elizabeth & Diogo are both originally from Brazil, and their parents have never seen snow before, so they were all for going outside and get some snowy shots so they could send them back to their family. We were pumped about it!

We found this awesome cut-down cornfield just on the border of their housing complex. How could we resist? Corn fields are always an awesome place to shoot, no matter what time of year!

“Coming Soon!”

Love these tender and cozy shots in their bedroom! Very tender.

Thanks so much again guys! We really enjoyed ourselves and we hope you love the images. Hopefully we will get a chance to meet Leonardo and do some photos of the little guy.

Baby boy blue, daddy and momma too

So this is baby bump number 3 in our family! Our boy Phoenix just had a brand new little cousin just before the new year, and now he can expect another one any time now! I must say that I have beautiful sisters, which make photographing them and their baby bumps super easy.

Marie and Mike are still deciding on a name for their boy, so until they do we will call this boy Baby Blue!

I’m glad they haven’t taken down the Christmas tree in Downtown Pittsburgh yet. It made for a great backdrop!

What’s better than one bump? Two!

So we ran into these guys riding their bikes around on an empty fountain. I figured we would include them in the fun!

You guys did great! Can’t wait to meet our newest nephew! And for you guys to finally decide on a name!

Baby Milo #3 on the way!

This is Marta, our sister, and she is beautiful. They are expecting their 3rd child, a little boy named Milo. Big brother Mica and big sister Mira are so excited! We are so happy for them and can’t wait for our little guy to be friends with his cousins! It’s so exciting that they’ll be so close in age—only a month apart!

Whose belly might this be?

Whose beautiful belly could this be!

Why it’s Heather’s of course!

:) ~

We just had a few minutes before doing a family photo shoot today and decided to do our own mini-maternity session. Heather is 32 weeks along now, and she’s been such a trooper in supporting me with our photo shoots. Not only that, but she’s been as involved as ever as a second shooter on weddings! So I figured I’d take a moment to thank her tremendously fore being such a wonderful wife, business partner and future mommy!

THANK YOU HEATHER!

(We can’t wait to meet this litte guy!)

Mmm… Pickles & PJ’s!

Another wonderful maternity shoot and a great sunny day! Abby & Art brought along a bunch of cute little props to make this shoot their own, plus we took photos in the same back yard where the two got married. A great location with tall grass, woods and a few more treats…

Abby & Art brought along a big jar of pickles since that was their baby’s nickname before they found out he was a boy!

As soon as I saw these pajamas hanging out to dry in the back, I knew I had to incorporate them somehow. A great splash of fun and color :)

Nice! Great smiles, too!

The big V is actually for Art being the 5th Arthur born in the family. Kinda cool!

Awesome moment with the grandparents touching momma’s belly!

We look forward to meeting little Arthur! Hope to see you guys all soon!

Countryside baby bump!

We drove a decent 45 minutes to Tarentum for this round-bellied shoot, but man was it worth it! This place was picked by Jessica, which belonged to her husband’s parents.

As soon as we pulled up to the residence, we were in awe by the beautiful farmland and place. Heather kept saying how she wanted to sell our house and move out here.

This barn and hay stacks seemed like a cozy little place to start.

Where’d they come from? They almost look like they crawled through the hay to get to mommy.

Love the back-lit glow of this photo! To me it symbolizes the glow of life growing inside Jessica’s belly. This composition was actually Nick Smarto’s idea, who has been doing a couple photo shoots with us. Feel free to check out his photography portfolio and work. We’re always happy to take him with us on photo shoots!

Such a wonderful little family moment…

Love the look on Jessica’s face here! She’s so full of love for her little ones :)

Ahh! Breeze…

I really love mother’s pregnant bellies! I think they’re such a wonderful thing! When we started doing photography, I was apprehensive about the idea of doing maternity shoots, but now we’ve done our third one, and I think it’s one of my favorite type of shoots to do.

“Marameo!”
(That’s an old Italian saying we used to say as kids when you would put your thumbs against your temples, wiggle your fingers and stick out your tongue. This kinda reminded me of that.)

Totally random, but when I saw these two ceramic cow and pig, I figured I’d incorporate them somehow. Really it was a bad choice of animals on my part because I had to either hand Jessica the cow or the pig… something no woman would ever want to be associated with. Oops! At least these ceramic guys were cute!

Mommy’s got a belly because she’s pregnant. Daddy? Well, daddy’s got indigestion. Or at least that’s what it looks like from this pic!

All around this tiny little shack was soooo muddy! I can’t even believe Jessica and Ryan agreed to walk all the way out there for photos. And, as they made their way back, Jessica almost took a tumble. Ryan grabbed her hand just in time! I would have felt so incredibly bad if she’d landed in all that mud!

I love those colorful little block letters  :)

Thanks for inviting us to such a beautiful location! We really hope to meet Colton soon. It’ll be such a joy to watch him grow if we do several photo sessions together!

Sun-Kissed Belly Across the Pittsburgh Landcape

Sandra & Loren found out about us through LivingSocial, and we were so happy they did! They were so adorable together and extremely nice! :)

So I have to admit something…

I never thought I’d be a big fan of doing maternity photos. That is, until we did two in one week and they turned out to be some of the best photos we’ve ever taken. I guess my worry was that there wouldn’t be all that much variety to work with for maternity shoots. I mean, really… the main feature is a nice plump belly, and how much can you do with that? As it turns out, I was wrong. But maybe we got spoiled by the fact that we photographed two really, really cute couples for our first two maternity shoots.

Check out this view! This was straight out of their balcony! You could see the entire city of Pittsburgh and even the Cathedral of Learning on the other side.

It almost looks like there’s halo of light around them! I was pumped about how these shots turned out.

I love sun-kissed shots! Especially when the light falls on a soon-to-be baby! There’s something magical about that. Almost as if Sandra’s belly itself were radiating with light.

That is such a loving look Sandra has for Loren!

This bridge was all Heather’s credit! At one point during the shoot, she disappeared and then she came back and told us she’d found this nice little spot!

Poke. Life is inside. Hey, you get to kick mommy all day long, I think it’s only fair if you get poked back a little.

Here’s the Pittsburgher in me coming out: Yinz are so stinkin’ cute.

Cute idea, Heather!

Again… another clever idea by Heather. I just push the button on the contraption strapped to my neck.

These two little girls were so tiny! We’re so used to hanging around the house with Floyd (95 lbs.) and Blake (65 lbs.) that I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw dogs so tiny! They were really friendly, and kitty-litter trained, too!

Now that’s a real man. You gotta respect a guy who can cock his eye-brow like that. And those doggies in your arms are a good look for you.

You guys were so incredibly fun to work with! You were willing to do just about anything and we really appreciated that! Can’t wait to meet your little girl!

Des, Jim and ‘da baby James!

Des and Jim are two of our best friends. We share a lot in this life together and most of the time its some of the best laughing ever. Des and Jim are expecting their first child and we are so happy for them. I know we’ll be there every step to experience it with them and love their baby James just as we love them. They are also our first “life stages” couple.  Basically photography for each stage of life. Back in winter we did a couple shoot, now a maternity, and many family photos in the future when little James gets here! Photo shoots with our friends are always the most fun because the more relaxed and comfortable we are the more relaxed and comfortable the couple/family is. And the shoots are always just so much fun. We love you guys so much and we can’t wait to meet little baby James! He’ll have the looks of mom and the dancing skills and sense of humor of dad! Perfect combo!

Rock it! Look at that sky!

Love you guys! Next shoot….baby James!!!
