Courtnae & Jeff Get Married!
Courtnae & Jeff were just simply a fantastic and fun couple! They got married at the historic Epiphany Catholic Church downtown and had a really fun reception at the Marriott City Center. We had such a great time shooting this couple. They were so laxed and outgoing that it made the whole day so easy! Plus they were surrounded by great family and friends, who were all equally easy going.
Let’s get this photo blog started!
This little guy loved the camera. Doesn’t look like it from this face, but he always made sure he snuck in on the lens. Hey, we’re fine with that!
Killer shoes. I probably took more shots of this pair of heels than I’ve ever taken at any other wedding. The girls poked fun of me for it. No, I don’t have a shoe fetish. I just appreciate things that photograph well
I have a weakness for short veils. They make brides look so mysterious!
Yes! Jump on that bed!
There’s nothing better than a bride who smiles like that!
You look so classy, Courtnae! As though you were plucked right out of the 1920′s and brought into our presence!
You can’t fake this kind of happiness. Courtnae was really all smiles. Such a joy to photograph couples who seem so happy on such a big day!
The Consol Energy Center makes for such a killer backdrop at night! We haven’t done any night shooting at weddings before, but I loved the challenge and opportunity!
“Cake, we have you surrounded! Your attempt at escape is futile.” I love their contemplative looks as they surround the cake!
The last moment Jeff will have “the upper hand” (as quoted from one of the maid of honors).
This is the first time we’ve done a photo booth at a wedding, and it was pretty cool. Mainly because Courtnae & Jeff put a lot of time, thought and effort in putting this wall together and brought along some quirky, fun props!
As you can see, however, the frames didn’t stay on that wall very long! haha
We love you guys! It was such an honor to have your wedding be our last of 2011! It leaves us on such a high note! We had a fantastic time and hope you love all of the images we captured for you!

Kate & Chuck Get Married!
This was probably one of our favorite weddings this year. Kate & Chuck were tremendous and extemely accomodating and caring! We love working with couples like them! Even on their big day they’re genuinely concerned about others.
I started out the day with Chuck and his buddies as they played 9 holes of Golf at the Moon Golf Club, while Heather (9 months pregnant) took some photos of the girls getting ready early in the day. We were once again blessed to have Nick Smarto with us to photograph the rest of the day so Heather could take a break!
You guys were so amazing, and your wedding was a beautiful day! Congrats and hopefully we’ll do more photos of you in the future!

Eve & EJ Get Married!
It was so nice to step outside of the typical “wedding box”. Eve and EJ had a very simple ceremony followed by a dinner at Dave and Busters in the Waterfront. They were such sports as we dealt with a very rainy and cold day. We wish you guys the best and thanks for letting us spend the evening with you!

You guys rocked it in all these photos! Thanks again!

John & Tracie at the Succop Conservancy
We were thrilled to photograph John & Tracie’s wedding! This couple was extremely sweet, humble and caring. It was awesome hanging out with them on their special day, and they did a great job with decorations and details at the beautiful Succop Conservancy!
This was a super hot wedding, which we never expected being in early September. John and the guys had wool tuxes. Crazy. I came rocking in shorts, and I was still sweating!
Okay so this random photo of traffic cones tossed in the air was inspired by a photo shoot by a photography team we really admire. I figured I’d go random and fun with a few photos, but sometimes I don’t realize how cooky I get. Fortunately I have Heather to remind me of that fact.
These little fans came in handy on a super hot day. Ninety-eight degrees was not the music playing at this wedding. It was the temperature!
Look at that smile!
John & Tracie are friends with a videography team called Moho Creative. If you’re considering a videographer at your wedding, you’ve definitely got to check them out! Their work is fantastic.
Click on the photo above to go to Moho Creative’s website!
Loved all the lighting setup at this wedding!
I had a bunch of people trying to cool off one way or another, but this one seemed to capture it best.
John was by far the most active and best groom dancer we’ve ever photographed. I think he learned a move or two by his dad…
Not sure where all the sweat bands came from! haha
Love the lighting in these shots! Heather takes some awesome photos on the dance floor considering she was 32 weeks pregnant!
Do the Matrix.
We had a fantastic time celebrating this day with you two and your family and friends!!
We hope you guys have a great life together!

Noelle & Matt say “I Dew”
Noelle and Matt had a beautifully detailed wedding with a splash of purple and personality. We had a great time with them, and we shot at the Summit Inn for the second time in a few months. A great location!
They rode from the church to the reception in the rumble seat of this classy 1930 Ford Model A!
We couldn’t even photograph the best part of this car: The horn! AHOOGA! Pretty cool.
It took a while to get them to jump all at the same time, haha!
One serious… One fun…
The heck with cake! Check out this stack of fresh strawberries!
Matt & Noelle had a chocolate fountain, and it was fantastic! I must have eaten a dozen chocolate-covered strawberries and enough choco-pretzel sticks to build a fort!
This was clever! I guess Matt and his friends are a bit of a Mountain Dew addicts!
Should we be worried of him taking our job?
Thanks so much for giving us the opportunity to document your wedding! We hope you love the moments we captured!

Jon and Nicole Get Married!

Nicole and John were one of our all day weddings. And it was a great day. The weather was beautiful and so were all the people we got to work with. Everyone treated us like we were friends of the family already and it really made it more relaxing to do a full day of photography. Their wedding at Heinz Chapel was beautiful and their reception was a ton of fun with a lot of different characters who came out to celebrate Nicole and John’s love. We loved your wedding and you guys gave us some amazing photos! Good luck with everything!
After I took this photo I looked back at it and was so surprised that I would grab something so cool. I’m not as good as Michel at abstract things but I think even though this is slightly different, she looks absolutely gorgeous. Reminds me of something from America’s Next Top Model!

The makeup room was really great with all the mannequin heads in the background
Nicole really was a gorgeous bride. Her whole look was so classy and mature, and really great on camera!

Love these two shots! Michel tried this shot very early on in our career but man he got so much better. These are amazing.

Hello Beautiful! She was so happy!
You have to admit, most of the time liquor isn’t that tasty….as these photos prove!

Your wedding was really great guys, and your happiness infectious! …We wish you all the best in your life!!!
Wynn & Gwenn Get Married!
Wynn & Gwen were great! We first met them when we did a fifties-style engagement session at Gwen’s great aunt’s house. Definitely take a look if you haven’t seen it already. We knew we would have a great time with them at their wedding and come away with some great shots!
I’ve always wanted to do a groomsmen shot like this with all the guys whipping out their smart phones.
Love the look they’re giving one another right above!
This stairwell was pretty sweet. And lighting was easy! Just popped a Nikong SB-900 with a LightSphere diffuser and it got the mood just like I wanted it.
Love your look there Gwen! You look so powerful and classy!
The reception was at the Succop Conservancy. It was filled a with an awesome array of old-style look and details.
Always start a reception with a bit of liquid encouragement.
Love her expressions in all of the shots above! Always an awkward arrangement.
Dance it guys!

Amy & Kevin’s Backyard Wedding!
Amy and Kevin are such a great couple. We did their engagement shoot a couple months back and we knew then that they were going to be so fun to photograph on their wedding day. And we were right! Amy was gorgeous and their backyard wedding was so laid back and relaxing, the way a wedding should be! Amy did such a great job with the decorating, adding her personal touch to everything in sight. I had the privilege of shooting with Rachel Rowland of Rachel Rowland Photography. She was nice enough to fill in for Michel who was away on army duty. And we had a great time shooting together! All in all the wedding was one of the most beautiful I’ve been to, from the ceremony to the details to Amy. Thanks so much for letting me photograph your wedding! Have a great time in Mexico and I wish you all the best in the future!

Angela and Mike get Married!!!
Angela and Mike are a really cute couple. We first met them when we did their engagement shoot ! Angela looked amazing on her wedding day and their party, as big as it was, was really laid back and welcoming. They had a ton of fun and the whole day you could just feel the love between Angela and Mike. They got married at the beautiful Summit Inn, in Uniontown, and the day was just really classy and beautiful! I want to thank Nick Smarto of Smarto Studios for being there to back me up while Michel was away for military training. He was such an encouragement and turns out the life of the party at the reception! I think he danced more than the guests!!!
Congrats guys!

Umm..Angela you’re gorgeous!
The above photo is dedicated to my hubby Michel who wasn’t able to be there with me. He loves quirky, weird, awful traditional poses and Angela and Mike were great sports when I asked them to humor me!

Good Luck Angela and Mike!!! I was so happy to be a part of your day! We wish you the best!
Josie & Pavel Get Married
We were really thrilled in being able to photograph Josie & Pavel’s wedding! We had a really fun time on their engagement photo shoot with balloons. And the theme fit again as Josie and her mom decorated her wedding with hand-made balloon flowers. Plus they did a killer job with bunches and bunches of hand-crafted paper flowers too. They were a great touch!
These bouquet ballon flowers were sweet! Josie, you and your mom did an awesome job with all the details! And I loved being able to incorporate these in some of our shots together!
I love how it was so easy for Josie and Pavel to laugh together and enjoy each other on a day that’s usually so stressful for a bride and groom.
So every bride and groom has faced it when going out to do their photos: Hecklers. They’re always whistling or shouting or honking their horn while driving by. This time, while stopping for some ice cream, some big guy behind me started heckling Josie and Pavel for looking so serious. But it got them both busting out laughing, so I wasn’t going to stop him.
This look says, “I should have ordered vanilla.”
Ice cream was definitely the right touch because this was such a hot day in Pittsburgh!
Pavel actually sent out a choreographed dance video of Staying Alive to his friends so they’d do it together at the wedding! That’s dedication.
What a great little moment. I love catching glimpses like this with the camera.
Do the train!
Thank you so much guys for being so fun and willing to play around with our silly photo ideas on your wedding day!

Liz & Ben Get Married
Man was this an enjoyable wedding! Ben and Liz have a great sense of humor, awesome personality, very relatable and treated us as our guests the whole time. We really felt like part of the new family. Also, if you’ve been following our work for a little while, you know that we’ve been doing some photo shoots with Nick of Smarto Studios. This was our first wedding together with him and he did a fantastic job. In fact, he turned in some gems. We couldn’t resist but post a few of his shots. You’ll see his name for credit under the photos that belong to him.
A lot of our weddings lately have been crunch time where we had only a few hours total to spend with our Bride and Groom. It was nice to have a bit more time to catch those preparation moments and glimpses of anticipation.
Cheese it! The girls snacked on some sausage and cheese, of course. I joked with Liz that I was going to do a post-modern shoe shot by putting one of the sausages and a block of cheese in her shoes. I don’t think she found that to be the brightest photography idea I pitched to her.
Great photo, Heather!
Also, confession time. Out of respect for our brides (and their to-be husbands) I never take photos of the bride putting on her dress, so I let Heather take all those images. So when this happened, I was actually down in the courtyard waiting for the girls to finish up, but the motel room’s door was open, and I could see Liz crying. I knew we had to have this image and that Liz would treasure it. So what do I do in a tender and emotional moment such as this?
I shouted, “HEY HUN ARE YOU GETTING THIS? DID YOU GET THAT PHOTO?”
Smooth, Michel. Smooth.
(Oh it was real smooth…what did you think I was doing, downing squeezy cheese and sausage???-H)
A guy’s moment relieving some tension. There were actually eight groomsmen, but I could only fit six of them in there.
by Nick Smarto
Ben pulled off the GQ pose quite nicely.
So apparently this cone photo is in memory of an argument Liz and Ben involving a traffic cone. Don’t worry, Ben, now she’ll really never forget about it. Ever.
Sometimes we have to break a rule or two to make sure we get the shots we need. I’m pretty sure Nick wasn’t supposed to be standing where he is right now for this image. But I’m glad he was.
Heather, who was standing in the back of the church, was getting yelled at right about now for Nick’s and my antics… Sorry hun! But aren’t photos like this worth it?
(Of course they’re great photos, but I bet I could have had a few too if I wasn’t getting yelled at every 5 minutes!!!-H)
This fish was totally random. It came with the bus they rented.
Also the bus (this was more like a charter bus than a limo bus) had a bedroom in the back! I figured we’d put it to good use.
Such an emotional and great moment between father and daughter…
Liz came away from the cake-smearing mostly unscathed. Ben… Well, he got the brunt of it.
Look, Ma! No hands!
Liz made some of the funniest and craziest faces dancing! It was great!
Thanks again guys! Don’t wait too long to have little babies cuz they’ll be adorable and we want to take pictures of them, too! You guys were wonderful!

The Batchen Saddle Up
If you like horses and cowboy boots, you just might enjoy this wedding photo shoot! We first did an engagement session with Justin & Nicole downtown, and it was really cool to go for the rural look on their wedding day! I think all of the elements, from the stables to some of the other more “country” details, all came very well together!
We started off with a few of Nicole and her maid of honor, just to get us warmed up for later…
So this was pretty cool — Not only did Nicole have two sets of shoes, but one was a sweet little pair of cowboy boots. I dig a bride with style!
Love this shot, Heather! So cool to see all of those hands working on somebody else’s dress!
This horse shoe was a really cool way of carrying the rings for the ceremony. Great idea!
Great stuff!
Never pass on an awesome pile of logs and wood on a wedding day.
These horse trailers gave us a sweet retro look!
Camren looks like he’s their body guard!
His face says, “Who you lookin at?”
Ah! Love it! A frozen moment together…
This mural behind their reception hall was so incredibly colorful! Really brought out the feel of spring!
Getting all these different looks of the bridal party was really refreshing. Usually we have to rush around to get our shots, but Nicole and Justin really made it happen and gave us so much to work with!
Thanks so much for having us photograph your big day! We had so many cool things to work with! May God bless you guys and your life together!

Amber & Greg Wedding
Ah it was so nice to get back into our photography swing of things! We started off our new year with a great little wedding with Greg & Amber, who were extremely easy going to photograph! Last time we did a photo shoot for the business was back in early December, so we definitely felt a little anxious getting back into it. It almost felt like this was our first wedding shoot ever… but within a few snaps we were right back where we left off. Hope you enjoy!
(In case you’re wondering… that’s the date)
At the reception site there was a little room where we found these wonderful Ikea lights that actually rocked for photography lighting. If I could somehow strap those things to my Nikon Strobes, I’d do it every time.
Classy! When I first took this shot, I didn’t even think we would keep it, but I ended up loving the simple beauty of the dress and the balcony working together.
I love going in close on the rings during the ceremony. The hold such perfect symbolism of unity and strength.
So this was probably the coldest day we’ve ever shot in. Last year we were extremely blessed with good weather on Saturday. The parking lot was a sheet of ice. It took both me and Greg to brave Amber out to this nice little bridge to take photos. We did our best to work quickly so that Amber didn’t turn into an ice cube!
How is it that little kids at weddings are always the best dancers? I love photographing them doing all their little-people moves.
The source of all the fun… A tray of cartoon-colored shots. Getting people pumped for the money dance.
Note to all brides and grooms: money dances equal money. Hence the name… People were tossing some hefty bills in there! Way to go Amber & Greg!
Natalie & Eric – Van Gogh Wedding
So Natalie & Eric’s wedding was the last one for the year for us, and we couldn’t be more happy to end on such a beautiful note! Natalie really went out with the details as she and Eric put together a Van Gogh themed wedding. Here blue and yellow color scheme really worked wonderfully together!
Natalie was about to sneak past the doorway behind Eric, so I told him not to look.
Nice capture, Heather! Right about this moment, the realization that she was going to marry Eric hit Natalie!
What a wonderful detail shot, Heather! This was taken with our new macro lens that came in just in time for the wedding! I was so anxious for the Sigma 50mm macro to come in all morning, and I’m so happy it did, because this wedding was totally worth capturing all the little touches.
This mechanical heart, by the way, was a present that Natalie designed for Eric a while back. It’s pretty darn sweet.
Awesome selection of ties! All of them are from Van Gogh paintings.
These two were so cute. The little boy gets her later for getting yanked on stage… you’ll see.
So classy! You and your dress looked grand, Nat!
I couldn’t believe how lucky we got when we came outside for these shots. The sun setting hit the Pitt Cathedral of Learning just right, bringing out a beautiful yellow against the blue sky… Just happens to be the wedding’s color scheme. Nice.
Aw, Heather! I love this shot you took!!
I’ve seen these frame photos taken a bunch of times by wedding photographers before, but we just had to do them! They fit perfectly with the theme and the fact that Natalie is a talented painter. Picture perfect.
We took so many fun photos with the guys! These two were just my favorites. I might use a couple of the other ideas for future weddings.
The award for this photo actually goes to Steele, the bald guy on the left. I told the groomsmen to hold a stiff pose and fall back as long as possible and Steele definitely held the fall the longest!
Watch out! It’s BrideZilla! hahah — Natalie, I love this photo! You two look really awesome in it.
In this photo, I told Eric, “Look like you’re a magician.” He definitely pulled it off!
I don’t know what’s funnier… the flower girl’s face, or the ring bearer’s. So mischievous.
Bam! Sweet ring shot.
The dancing at the wedding was out of control fun! We came away with so many energetic shots!
That’s me with my flash going off at the bottom, totally surrounded! (Michel)
Haha! Thanks again Natalie and Eric for entrusting us to photograph such a beautiful and detail-driven wedding! We hope to have done it some justice!
Mark & Joanna!
Mark and Joanna are so cute. We did their engagement photos a few months back where they baked the test run for their wedding cake (which really was made by them!). We were really looking forward to their wedding, and even more looking forward to all the goodies they had at their reception! Everywhere you looked there were spices, cookies, cupcakes and recipe books on how to make it all! And most of all we saw a bunch of love. Mark and Joanna are so in love and they had a beautiful, God honoring ceremony. We wish them the best of luck and hope they keep up the baking!
Little sis passes out all the gifts!
Great shot babe—the moment you captured of her reading the card Mark wrote for her is beautiful!-H-
Their vows were very beautiful–and emotional as you can see.
Your cake was sooooo amazing! Red Velvet, Peanut Butter and Lemon…YUM!
Rock the Dress: Stephanie!
Stephanie was great. She got married 2 years ago and decided to fit back into her wedding dress to give it one last hoorah! She’s actually cutting her dress up to preserve it in a shadow box…so seriously…these are the last shots of her beautiful dress! We walked around Oakland and used some of the gorgeous back drops it has to offer. We came away with some stunning photos! Enjoy!
Sarah & Jamey
The weather was a bit chilly, but the sky was a beautiful blue when we shot Sarah & Jamey’s wedding at Hidden Valley. For the most part, we went for a classy and traditional look, but there were definitely quite a few laughs along the way.
Heather took this beautiful shot while Sarah hid behind a bush so Jamey wouldn’t see her right away. You’ll see later that the couple went for a “first look.”
The guys were having trouble with their handkerchiefs and weren’t really sure how they were supposed to be folded in their breast pocket.
Also some of their sleeves needed taylored.
We did a few posed photos before the ceremony. It helped make the most of our photography time because sometimes it gets pretty tight on schedule with couples on their wedding day.
Oh guys. Rocking out the boas…
Except, you’re not supposed to eat it Jamey! I couldn’t stop laughing at this point. Jamey tried to hit one of the groomsmen in the face with the boa, but instead choked down a featherful.
This might be a bit of a nontraditional photo, but I love the photojournalistic feel of this shot!
Can you believe the bridesmaids made these cakes? Pretty slick!
This was awesome! After dancing a solo with her uncle, Sarah had the DJ bust out with a “Here We Go Steelers” song. Her uncle is a long-time Cleveland fan. His expression here is priceless! Believe it or not, at one point he did whip out a towel and start waving it. We just won’t post those photos so to keep him from getting hazed by his coworkers and friends.
Thanks for the wonderful time guys! We really loved being able to photograph your wedding.
Heather & Jock
Heather and Jock’s wedding was one of the most fun we’ve ever been to. Everyone was just there to celebrate their love and to support them as they begin their journey. The classic beauty of their ceremony and the energetic party of a reception just made it such a pleasure to shoot and be a part of. Thanks so much for letting us photograph your amazing day!! All our bests as you grow in love.
It was quite adorable to see Heather all giddy and excited, as well as nervous before the big event!
Heather you look stunning and amazing shot babe—you do clouds the best!-Heather
What a great lookin’ group of ladies—you all look great!
Heyyyy—-lookin’ good! These guys stopped traffic!
Such a beautiful tender moment between Heather and her dad. I love getting to be with the brides right before they walk down the aisle. It’s so touching. -Heather
And so it begins!
Heather and Jock were obviously so in love. Michel and I felt like we were interrupting a private moment with them the whole time we were shooting their couple shots after the ceremony. They were so adorable and delivered some amazing photos.
Great idea Heather!!! Too cute!
Two amazing shots babe—you’re crazy good.
Heather is a shoe fan—-like a big shoe fan. And so much so that she incorporated a shoe and tie contest at her reception. So cool.
I loved the puzzle piece table numbers Heather put together. Her theme was “We fit together” and there were little puzzle pieces all over. I couldn’t help but take the time to snag them all!
This ‘lil one had some great moves! And Jock did too—bustin out the Carlton.
There reception was such a fun party. Everyone busted out their best moves and it made for some great pictures! Enjoy!!!
Michel and I just both happened to snag the same shot from two different angles—I couldn’t help myself but to put them together!
Joe & Diana
Wow. What can we say, other than Diana and Joe threw together a really beautiful wedding. This was our first (hopefully of many) wedding outside of Pittsburgh. The ceremony took place in the Fellows Riverside Garden in Youngstown, an absolutely gorgeous location. The Reception was at the Stambaugh Auditorium, a very classy venue. In fact, so classy, that there was a sign that read “Enter with dignity” — you’ll see below.
Enjoy looking at these photos everyone! We sure enjoyed taking them!
Frank + Amanda
Frank & Amanda were such a wonderful couple. They both seemed so relaxed and easy going when we did the photos. Also, Frank’s parents put together a stunning setting in their backyard for both the ceremony and reception. His parents were also so friendly and accommodating. We really felt welcomed and at ease to be there. The day was beautiful and so was this couple!
Not sure what the beef was here. Guys just need to check their manliness with fists from time to time and make sure the tank is still full. Good to go, guys.
Girls have their bouquets, guys have their beer. I think this might a good new trend in wedding photography. But the gals were definitely way more pro in posing with their flowers than the dudes with their beer.
Here was the competition… Actually, this was Frank’s father, and a really, really nice guy. I laughed because we both had the overly-expensive piece of Tupperware on our flashes… also known as the Gary Fong Diffuser. It’s expensive, but definitely worth the buck.
Getting a bit affectionate here…
No cake cutting at this wedding, but still good to catch the traditional “feed the bride a forkful of food shot.”
Guys! You were both amazing and so easy to work with! We wish you both a very happy and loving marriage!
Kenny’s Five Faithful Years
Kenny and Faith just celebrated their five-year anniversary! Faith surprised Kenny with a little photo shoot with us to celebrate this milestone moment in their life together. But Faith had also another surprise in mind… She brought along a tux for Kenny and her wedding dress for herself (those photos are further down). After five years and three beautiful children, not only did Faith fit in her dress, but she looked stunning! The funniest part about it is that we shot along the North Shore when they were all dressed up, and cyclists and joggers kept complimenting them thinking they’d just gotten married
~ It’s always great seeing other people’s joy for new couples… or couples that are going five years strong and counting.
We actually started the shoot on our own street. We live on the North Side of Pittsburgh. Not the prettiest neighborhood, but there’s a lot of industrial buildings and businesses on our street that we’ve been wanting to use for a shoot for a while! Finally we got a chance. There’s still a bunch more left to photograph, too.
I really loved Faith’s dress. It added a lot of motion and drama to all the photos. The black lines went well with this trailer wall we found.
What’d I tell you about the dress?
Random red ball we found and decided to use because it matched Faith’s shoes. No, there is no metaphorical meaning behind it. It’s just a red ball.
Peek-a-boo! This pose was Heather’s idea, but I love how natural and cute Kenny and Faith made it work!
You hold me, I hold you… Kenny was a bit skeptical that Faith could hold onto him though.
This shot would not have been possible without a little strobist action. I can’t say enough how much I love using off-camera lighting. It’s good to have a wife who works with you on these shoots
They really did look like a newly wed couple!
Usually we have to beg brides to see if they’re willing to rock out their dress in suspect places. However, getting in her dress was all Faith’s idea, and when I first heard they’d been married five years I was skeptical about the whole thing, but she looked great!
The sky was crazy beautiful. Clouds so puffy they looked like whipped cream!
A good man holds his wife’s shoes when she has to walk on a shoot. Kenny, you sir, are a good man.
I simply couldn’t believe this sky. So glad we had an amazingly beautiful day to work with. That’s a rare occasion in Pittsburgh.
We usually walk our dogs (well, Blake walks us) along the North Shore by the river, and when summer turned and I saw this foliage climbing all the way up the bridge, I knew I wanted to take shots here.
Can’t do a shoot without a little danger! Right in front of the Roberto Clemente Bridge.
Kenny & Faith, you guys were amazing to work with. You looked great and were really fun and easy to photograph! You made our job look easy
Ed + Mary
We were so blessed to start off our wedding season with Ed & Mary’s wedding. The best part was that Ed was great in keeping in touch with us leading up to the wedding and up to date on the evolution of their wedding plans. We felt really prepared and comfortable photographing their big day, and overall it all went really smoothly.
~ o ~
This is Chloe. Heather loved her. And she loved Heather because she could smell our pups on her probably. We can’t go anywhere without being covered in hair, to be honest. Chloe was extremely friendly and playful.
You can always feel the anticipation before the ceremony in the guys. Ed’s brothers kept him company at the front of the church. Ed said that he was expecting to be in full jitters, but he seemed rather composed throughout.
Mary helping her brother Paul fixing his tie.
Mary snuck into the back of the church just before the ceremony began. I was able to catch her just in time! Fortunately Ed didn’t catch a glimpse.
Mary had a beautiful deck built in her back yard, and she did all of the gardening on the hillside herself. It was a beautiful spot to catch a few shots.
They make for a pretty cute family.
So Ed presented a list of all the reasons for why he loves Mary. It was really long…
…and mary sunk her head under the tablecloth out of embarrassment. Which, in my experience, husbands are pretty good at doing that to their wives.
Ed provided sunglasses for all the guys to do a little dance of their own.
And this little guy made those glasses look good.
Thanks Ed & Mary! We really appreciated being able to photograph your wedding! We want to wish you both the best!
Colin & Melissa
Colin & Melissa were such a beautiful couple! They flew down to Mexico to have their wedding and then held a reception back in Pittsburgh to celebrate with the rest of their friends and family. We were a bit jealous and wished they could have taken us with them to do their wedding photos
The reception was held in the upstairs lounge of Olive-or-Twist, where Colin’s pastor blessed their marriage during a short affirmation ceremony.
There were plenty of champagne glasses and drinks to go around for the guests to enjoy!
I like the tenderness and privacy of this photo, with their shadows embracing into a kiss.
The cake was beautiful, and cookie table was filled with assorted goodies.
The cake-feeding shots were actually kinda hard to take! Melissa kept backing away as though she expected Colin to smear icing on her face. Fortunately, no brides were cake-smeared in the making of this shoot.
The warmth of this shot is so wonderful! I slowed down the shutter speed to bring out some of the atmosphere lighting into the image.
I love how intently and passionately Melissa kept looking at her new husband. Her eyes were fixed on him through most of the night.
Here we snuck out for a few portrait shots! I got to play around with some off-camera lighting and I really love how these images came out.
I love how passionate this photo is with their tight embrace and their lips just moments from a kiss! You guys were beautiful!
Melissa said she had to restrain herself from hitting me every time I showed her a picture we took. She said she does that only when she’s really thrilled or excited about something. Well, at least we know you wanted to hit me out of joy, Melissa! And thank you, we love these photos too!
I was so happy the manager at the Renaissance Hotel let us take some pictures inside their lobby. This place is amazing, and I wouldn’t mind doing another shoot in there in the future! Any of you couples out there interested?
Thanks again Colin & Melissa for having us photograph your reception! We are so happy for you guys (and jealous that you got to fly down to Mexico!) God bless you both!
